This Greatest Local Multiplayer Release You Have Almost Certainly Not Tried Arrives to Switch

The Wizard of Legend Sequel, a procedurally-generated quest featuring spellcasters striving to become legends, makes its debut to Nintendo Switch later this month. It will be accessible the 25th of November, offering devotees of couch co-op games a second chance to discover among the year's top-tier additions in its class.

A Challenging Launch

Wizard of Legend 2 adopted the trajectory of numerous under-the-radar releases. The developer released it in early access in October 2024 on Windows PC, before publishing it fully, in conjunction with PS5 and Xbox versions, in the summer of 2025. When it debuted, it faced heavy criticism. Merely less than a third of its audience ratings were positive. Its feedback on Steam were "mixed", drawing from close to a couple thousand reviews, with a lot of players highlighting the unrefined state and abundance of technical issues at launch. Console players also criticized that the co-op feature, a key feature for the release, mostly failed.

Ongoing Enhancements

However similar to numerous pre-release releases that debut in rough states, The Wizard of Legend Sequel has been shaping up. Over the past few months, its developers have released a series of patches designed to resolve these problems. After playing Wizard of Legend II more than every other recent title this year, one can assert its functionality has improved relative to at launch (for Xbox, at least). It has reached the stage where nine times out of ten, I can actually get a multiplayer game to work. Quite an improvement!

If It Works, It Works

And if Wizard of Legend II operates, it performs excellently. From an isometric perspective, you navigate magic-oriented levels by using magic in fast-paced combat. A great deal of rushing, plenty of evading, lots of handling spell delays. It's dizzyingly fast-paced and highly imaginative; through blending your spells together with an ally's, you can create some devastating combinations.

Switch Release Specifics

While the portable iteration hasn't been extensively tested, one should consider the notoriously rigorous guidelines for certification for games on the Switch. The developer confirmed via an announcement that the Nintendo release of Wizard of Legend 2 features all updates that were implemented this year.
